DALLIN H. OAKS IS IN TOWN !

Hi everyone, I can't believe that I haven't posted for such a long time.

I'm so excited. Tomorrow Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of 12 apostles will be speaking at our church meeting. :)

For those of you who are not aware....

The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints is organized in the same way as the church that Jesus established.

In his epistle to the Ephesians Paul spoke of this organization or structure that the church had. In chapter two he said...

 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

 and in chapter four

 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

 What was the purpose of this?

 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Paul also said how long this was to continue..

 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

The world, all of Heavenly Father's children, still has a ways to go in 'coming in the unity of the faith', yes?

Dallin H. Oaks is an apostle. The same as Peter, James, John, Paul and others in the New Testament. He and the other apostles in the church are learned, humble, meek yet strong men. Who are taught by, and who teach by the Spirit.

Wouldn't it have been neat to sit at the feet of the apostles in Jesus day?

For members of the church today, this is how it is. I am very excited to hear and learn from this servant called by God to help guide His church.
